Well, being the completionist that I am, I decided to reload to the last autosave (which was right before the last supply drop location) and decided to fast travel to Prodromos to report the animal activity, which then failed the supply drop location part of the mission and then completed it. I was doing the supply chain mission on Eos, and I completed the optional parts of the mission, which led to some other location, but failed the part where you can report about animal activity.
